The USA is marketed as "the land of opportunity" and has always been a nation of immigrants. I grew up in a community full of undocumented immigrants and all I ever saw were hard-working families doing their best to get by and provide a better future for their children. I'm really grateful that my entire family now has citizenship and I'm really grateful that I was born here but I really feel awful for all these people that are now rounded up into concentration camps.
To think this could have happened to my family had they not come in the 80s thanks to Reagan's policies that granted my family amnesty, green cards, and eventually citizenship makes this so much more heartbreaking. The first episode made me ugly cry a lot. Within the comment sections, recommendations for non-Netflix content will sometimes be allowed.
